Dear Members,

Please find enclosed a letter fromt the UIA to the Malaysian authorities regarding the arrest of a number of Malaysian colleagues for exercising their fucntion of  lawyer.

Responding to an urgent appeal form the Bar of Malaysia, the UIA reminded the Prime Minister of Malaysia of the garanties for the functioning of lawyers.
