Bar presidents, senior officers, bar executives and law firm and individual practitioners should attend this informative programme presenting new developments and often thorny issues affecting the profession of law.  Sessions will feature expert panels and encourage the interaction of delegates in discussing topics including:

  • Crossing the red line - what do you tell, and to whom, and why not?
  • The vision and the power of the President of a Bar organisation
  • How can bar associations support the fight against racial, gender and other discrimination?
  • Political interference in the activities of lawyers and lawyers' organisations
  • Representing justice: the role of lawyers in establishing the international criminal courts and safeguarding their legacy

This conference will once again host inputs and commentary from some of the worlds' leading practitioners as well as giving delegates ample time to network during a reception, hosted by The Netherlands Bar, and a conference dinner taking place at The Harbour Club, located in the Scheveningen harbour.


Attendees will also benefit from up to 9.75 CPD/CLE hours as per the Law Society of England and Wales. The number of CPD points/hours available may vary for other bar associations and law societies depending on their criteria. U.S. CLE accreditation of this programme has been approved in New York and California.
